Wollongbar is a town (2006 population: 1,846) in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia. The town is located on the Bruxner Highway between the towns of Lismore and Alstonville.

Schools

Wollongbar Primary School, opposite the local shops, is the only school located in Wollongbar.

Sport

Wollongbar's main sporting club is the Wollongbar Alstonville Rugby (W.A.R) which was founded in 1992. The club has teams from under 8s right through to under 19s and has 3 grade sides. The club have won numerous junior premierships however have won just one 1st grade title, in 1996. The 2008 1st Grade team finished the year in 4th position after losing to Lennox Head. The side, captained by Matthew Scott, featured Tim Perkins, Kent Sharman, Brad Marsh, Lachlan Vigna, Ben Damen and Arlo Cluff.

Life members of the club include: Howard Atkinson, Warick Davidson, Wayne Millane, Eion Johnston, David Graham, Mark Ellis and Peter Brown.

School

Wollongbar Public School is at the centre of the Wollongbar community. It has a school motto of "Learning for Life". It is a member of The Plateau to the Sea Learning Community. School achievements include representation at regional and state levels of sporting competition and performing arts opportunities.
